# Use Native Shopify Swatches

This setting allows Rubik to use color or image swatches defined in **Shopify metafields**, instead of Rubik’s custom swatch images/colors.

### **How it works**

* If a variant option has a metafield color → Rubik uses that color
* If it has an image metafield → Rubik uses that image
* If both exist → image takes priority
* If no metafields exist → Rubik uses your custom swatch settings

### **When to enable**

* You already use Shopify’s native swatch metafields
* You want your theme’s original color swatches to stay intact
* You want consistency across apps or theme features

### **When to keep disabled**

* You prefer using Rubik’s custom swatches only
* You do not use Shopify metafields for color or pattern values
