Use Native Shopify Swatches

This setting allows Rubik to use color or image swatches defined in Shopify metafields, instead of Rubik’s custom swatch images/colors.

How it works

  • If a variant option has a metafield color → Rubik uses that color
  • If it has an image metafield → Rubik uses that image
  • If both exist → image takes priority
  • If no metafields exist → Rubik uses your custom swatch settings

When to enable

  • You already use Shopify’s native swatch metafields
  • You want your theme’s original color swatches to stay intact
  • You want consistency across apps or theme features

When to keep disabled

  • You prefer using Rubik’s custom swatches only
  • You do not use Shopify metafields for color or pattern values
