# The App Suddenly Stopped Working. What Should I Check? ( Product Status Report )

If Rubik Variant Images & Swatch suddenly stops working on your product page, it is often caused by recent changes made to the product or theme. The fastest way to diagnose the issue is by checking your **Product Status Report** inside the app.

### 1. Start by Checking the Product Status Report

Go to:

**Rubik Variant Images & Swatch → Configured Products → Check status report**

This report automatically scans for changes in your product that may break your configuration. If you see warnings or errors, the product likely needs to be updated or re-saved.

### 2. What Actually Breaks a Configuration?

Rubik’s configuration remains stable unless Shopify product data **adds something new** or **removes something** that the configuration was built on.

### **These changes MIGHT break the configuration:**

* **A new variant value is added**
(Example: New Color, New Size)
* **A new variant option is added**
(Example: Product had only Color → now you added Size)
* **A variant is deleted**
* **New product media is added**
(or an existing image is removed)
* **You replace a product image with a new file**

### **These changes SHOULD NOT break the configuration:**

* Variant name changed
(Example: “Burgundy” → “Dark Burgundy”)
* Option name changed
(Example: “Color” → “Colour”)
* Variant order changed
(reordering does not break it unless a new option is added)
* Product media order changed
(dragging images around does not break it unless new media is added)

**However:** Even if these should not break the configuration, checking the status report is still recommended.

### 3. What To Do If the Status Report Shows Issues

Depending on what changed, you may need to:

* Reassign images for the affected variants
* Or simply re-save the configuration on the **Assign Images** page
* If new media was added, organize the images then reassign
* If new variants/options were added, assign images for those new values

Once updated, your product page will reflect the correct behavior again.

### 4. If the Product Status Is Clean but the App Still Does Not Work

If the status report shows **no issues**, the next step is to check theme activation:

Go to:

**Rubik Variant Images & Swatch → Activated Themes**

Make sure the app embed is enabled on your current theme. If the theme was recently updated or changed, the embed may have turned off. Click **Enable on theme editor** and ensure Rubik is switched **ON** in the App Embeds panel.
