How to Assign an Image to Specific SKU? Working with Multiple Variant Options (e.g. Color + Size)
How Rubik Handles Multi-Option Products
When a product has two or more variant dimensions, such as Color + Size, Material + Length, or Style + Capacity, Rubik checks which images are assigned to each selected option and then displays only the images that overlap.
This ensures customers never see images that belong to a different color, size, or specification.
What Intersection Logic Means
Rubik shows only the images that are shared between all selected variant values.
Example
- Selected Color: Red
- Selected Size: Large
Rubik will show only the images that are assigned to both Red and Large.
If an image is assigned to Red but not to Large, it will be hidden.
This keeps your gallery clean and perfectly matched to the customer’s selection.
Best Practices for Multi Option Products
- Assign shared images to each relevant variant option so Rubik can correctly find the overlap.
- For products with many combinations, double check that important images are assigned across all needed values.
- If you are unsure how to structure image assignments, watch the in app video tutorial or start by configuring the primary option (usually Color).
- Try to keep option names consistent to avoid confusion when assigning images.
Using intersection logic ensures that customers always see the right product version, which reduces confusion and helps increase conversions.
